Community Power Scotland is part of an EU-wide campaign to encourage local involvement in and benefit from energy schemes including energy efficiency projects, grid management, collective power purchasing and energy generation.
We were contracted by Friends of the Earth Scotland to develop a website for the Scottish part of the campaign. The design brief included the use of graphical elements and design guidelines produced for use by the campaign across the EU.
The site design was initially developed in Photoshop with mockups supplied to the client, and then with switchable site theme options.
The site has a fully responsive design, with page content reflowing and images and video rescaling to fit the browser window width.
The WordPress content management uses Custom Posts for adding Case Studies. Given the complex layout of these pages, to allow consistent input and output of data, the editing screen uses tabbed content panels and ‘repeater fields’ for separate areas of content, with the necessary html required to provide the layout and design features added by a custom template.
Also included are a range of theme settings which make it easy for the client to modify various aspects of the website as their requirements evolve.
